How was the weekend? Is it over already…sheesh, goes by so fast. Ah well. On to Monday!
I taught my early bird spin class this morning. We zoned out to this mashup with lots of speedy hill climbs. Good stuff.
Let’s backtrack to the weekend…it was without a doubt a lot of fun. I had a long run on Saturday and scaled back the miles…14 mile recovery run and it felt super good. Kept it around a 9 minute pace and my last mile was my fastest at 8:26. It was super humid though and the heat is not letting up this week. Lows in the 70s and highs in the 90s.
4 weeks til the marathon! And my longest run (23 miles) will be next weekend. Bring it on.
After the run I went to the fair with friends. We went to the State Fair classic college football game— Grambling vs. Prairie View A&M. Even though Grambling won PV had the best halftime show! Any band that plays Nelly’s ‘Hot in Herre’ is alright with me.
We walked around a bit and saw the massive ferris wheel with the sunset in background.
And the new and improved Big Tex. He actually burned down not long ago and they rebuilt him, now he’s stronger than ever.
My weekend ended with a 4 mile Sunday sunset run…and a beautiful glass of red wine. Cheers.
How was your weekend? What did you do?
Amazing pictures!! Seriously, love them and am completely in love with the ferris wheel picture!! WOW! Definitely beautiful just like you! Great weekend recap and HELLO, GREAT RUN!! You’re amazing!!! Happy Monday!! XOXO!!
Thank you sweets.
Can’t wait to hear how you kill that 23-miler next weekend!!!!
Thanks! Wish you could join me!
Good luck in your 23-miler, and the marathon. You won’t be sorry. Oh, and great photos.
jim
Thank you, Jim!!
❤ your pics!!! And I love going to fairs/festivals!!! They're so much fun. it looks like you had yet another fantastic weekend. And I cannot believe the marathon is in 4 weeks. You'll do awesome on your LR this coming weekend!!! I have been really struggling with the LRs lately. I think it's lack of sleep + the hot weather. Or maybe it's just me making excuses — and all just psychological.
Hang in there girlie!! I hope it cools down for us oh so soon!!
BEAUTIFUL photos my friend 🙂 It looks like such a classic country fair, absolutely adorable. I love Ferris Wheels! I haven’t been on one in years. Definitely adding it to my to-do list 🙂
It’s definitely the best fair around! My favorite part is always the wine garden where you can sample different Texas wines 😉 Fun for adults and the kiddos!!
Looks like such a fun weekend! Nice job on the run…the countdown is on for my marathon too….woot woot!
How exciting! I have a feeling you are going to rock it!!
Both of those sunset pictures are amazing chica!!! And my weekend was low key. I slept like sleeping beauty on Saturday hahaha l I pretty slept the bulk of the day. It was my only rest day of the week. Then Sunday it was training run #5 on the race course. And you know Sunday was da’ bomb cause the cowboys won lol 🙂
haha totally thought about you too! They really did whoop up on the Saints!
Oh’ and that 23-miler … girrrrrllll I already consider that crushed by you 😉
Thanks so much! I am oddly looking fwd to it!
That picture of the ferris wheel and the sunset is gorgeous!!! I bet 14 miles was a nice change after all of the long runs you have done lately.
Yes it was! Although with all the walking we did at the fair I’m sure I got in about 20.
State Fairs just remind me of The United States. Love Big Tex, and can see he’s standing tall. Enjoy the football season. You guys have such talented marching bands.
I love State fairs. Haven’t been to one since I moved from NJ. Spent my weekend riding with a kick ass group of women. It left me completely inspired and wanting to work even harder towards my goals.
Awesome!
