Happy December! Oh my…it has been far too long since we have caught up with one another! Hope your Monday is off to a good start. Mine certainly is with the help of a little java.
How was your Thanksgiving holiday? Mine was marvelous…4 days of freedom. I could not have asked for a more peaceful, fun break. I started off Turkey Day with a nice long run. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Just me galavanting through the leaves and trees as usual.
After that I had a short window of time so I had to get all cleaned up for dinner. My mom and cousin pulled out all the stops for this one. Turkey, dressing, greens, the works. The icing on top was my cousin’s famous cheesecake with some sort of Bailey’s caramel sauce. Wow…and I don’t even like cheesecake all that much. But hers was magnificent.
Friday…mama and I were up for some Black Friday shopping. I think we were half awake here.
The weekend sure did come around fast! I stayed at my mom’s house for a couple of days so Saturday I got up to do some more running. I had planned 8 miles but made it 10 because I was having just a little too much fun running around my hometown. And hello! Check out that weather. Great day to be outdoors for sure.
Saturday night I had a date at Mercy Wine Bar followed up with salsa dancing at Gloria’s. All of the restaurants and bars in the area are all lit up for Christmas.
The next day I got to sleep in since I have been on this Saturday church kick. It’s always nice to have a free day on Sunday to do as you please and not get up and rush anywhere. I did some grocery shopping and went to yoga.
By the way I have this new thing for chopped salad. My mom introduced me to it. Why it tastes so much better than regular salad I have no idea. Plus add avocado to the mix and nix the dressing for salsa and you have a happy Chelsea.
And I even had time last night to put up my Christmas tree. I’m not quite done with the decorations…but yes I do love my sassy Christmas tree. It has oh so much character.
Plus a Christmas tree is not complete without a Starbucks ornament…red cup for the win.
How was your Thanksgiving holiday? Do you have a special dish that you prepare every year? Any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shoppers?
Girl, you ran a marathon this weekend and it looks like you had an amazing time!!!!!!!! Love it!!! And all your pics.
Thank ya!! I really did enjoy every mile!! Especially running in my old ‘hood.

I love your Christmas tree! So cute 🙂 We’re never home for Christmas, so our (fake) Christmas tree never comes out =\ Maybe I’ll put it up this year anyway.
It’s so nice just to come home and light the tree!! I always look fwd to doing that when I get home from work. It’s the little things…lol
Sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving. I love your sassy tree. This time of year is so fun. Hope you found some good Black Friday deals.
Yes we found a couple of deals…tried to stay out of the mall craziness!! But it was fun.
This might be the first year in awhile that I didn’t take advantage of cyber Monday – oh, well. I’m sure there will be more sales in the next few weeks.
Sounds like you had a great weekend. Your tree is awesome!!
No Cyber Monday for me either…I’m sure we did not miss much!
You deserved every morsel and bite with all that running. I’ve taken my rest post-marathon very seriously…a little too seriously, lol. Looking forward to adding some mileage this week!
Go for it! Enjoy!
