Of course my day started off with a run on my favorite trail. I would not have it any other way. Not only that but the weather has been pretty stellar for running…in the 50s every morning. That is my sweet spot.
I thought we would switch gears this week and do some of This or That…Christmas survey style. Let’s get to it.
–Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Christmas Day…no doubt. I love giving gifts and seeing the smiles on my parents faces. This year my dad is coming up from Houston too so it will be a good time. Love my papa.
–Real tree or fake tree? I’m usually a faker when it comes to trees. This year I have my sassy white Christmas tree up with the colored lights.
–Tree ornaments or tree lights? That’s a tough one…I think you have to have both.
–Going Christmas caroling or watching Christmas movies?
Movies for sure…just because I love me some Elf. I have to watch it every year.
–Indoor or outdoor decorations? I prefer outdoor just because I love driving around and looking at all the Christmas lights in the neighborhood.
–Santa or the elves?
I’m a santa lover…Black santa for the win.
–Eating the Christmas cookies or leaving them out for Santa?
Just eat ‘em.
–Putting presents in front of the tree days in advance, or waiting until late Christmas Eve? Days in advance. I just love the look of a Christmas tree with presents underneath.
–A white Christmas or a green Christmas? We’ll go with white.
–Going to church or volunteering at a soup kitchen? I think it’s so important to give back during the holiday season. Volunteering is the way to go because you can always go to church.
–Religious Christmas or a festive one? Festive all the way. I still love me some Jesus though.
–Spending the holiday with immediate or extended family? Immediate
–Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate with Bailey’s. Although I do love me some egg nog especially when I get to RUN for it!! Can’t wait for the Jogger Egg Nogger 15K next weekend. And of course the spiked nog afterwards.
–Spending Christmas with or without children? It’s always nice to have the kiddos around.
–Giving or receiving? Giving
Answer any or all of the above questions!
I’m with you on “Elf”. Just watched it last week 🙂 “Smiling’s my favorite.”
Definitely watching it this weekend!! I like to replace the ‘smiling’ with ‘running’…I just like to *run*…running’s my favorite!!!
First things first – Jealous of your morning runs (especially anything trail related). Hopefully when Spring comes around, I could start running more outdoors.
Okay, let me see what I could answer here:
Ugh — we celebrate both. Christmas Eve is fun bc there’s always good food and we get dressed up. But Christmas Day is breakfast with the fam, opening gifts, then going home to play with our new toys!
FAKE TREE – we did a real tree once with my parents but the clean up is not cool. Unfortunately, P is allergic so FAKE tree every year is what we go with and we do both — ornaments and lights.
CHRISTMAS MOVIES of course. Have you heard me sing??? Awful.
Ourdoor for sure. Love the Christmas lights.
SANTA! I do NOT do the Elf on the Shelf business. I already do so much with the kiddos — SANTA is the man you go to.
EATING THEM!!!
Presents in front of the tree before Christmas for sure!!! Though, maybe that will change when the kids are older.
WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!
I’d love to volunteer. We go to church.
Festive.
IMMEDIATE all the time.
HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!
Of course with children and i prefer GIVING. I love seeing people’s expression.
Love this survey. XOXO
BAH HUMBUG. Sike. I’m no Scrooge.
Yay love your answers!! Definitely celebrate Christmas Eve too…so glad for once we actually get the whole day off! Last year we just had a half day and I actually had to use my vacation time to get the whole day. haha
Oh I am so glad that you’re off the whole day!!! Wait, did you mention you’re off the day after Christmas too? I hope so. that would be lame having to go in on a Friday.
Yes we are thank goodness!!
Definately Christmas movie….Home Alone
Oh man I almost forgot about that one! YES!!
Dude I’m totally on board with just about every one of your answers…other than the white Christmas. Take it from this Canadian, it’s overrated!
And those running conditions couldn’t be any better!!
haha…I know right…you guys could use a little green Christmas up there! Stay warm!
What a cute survey. You’re a real Christmas person. I love your diva tree!
Thanks Char!
We do artificial trees. I’m perfectly happy with a green Christmas!!
I love Santas – and collect them. Our big tree in the family room is only Santa ornaments – 100s of them.
A santa tree sounds super cool!
50 degrees is THE sweet spot for running. Glad you’re not up to your eyeballs in snow like we are here!
I definitely agree with most of your answers. And your tree looks simply fabulous! I love having my presents under the tree as soon as they are wrapped. They just add to the excitement. Your egg nog jog sounds so fun! I am an egg nog NUT! I can’t get enough. Haven’t brought any into the house yet, because I seriously can’t leave it alone once it gets here 🙂 Next grocery trip, though…
I’m so glad you get to celebrate Christmas with your dad this year. That will be so nice!
Yes I am looking fwd to seeing him…he’s staying the entire Christmas week and we’re doing a big dinner so should be fun! Glad to hear you love egg nog too!! Stay warm with all of that snow!
HEY!!!! Hope you’re having a fabulous December!!! I love this post!! So creative!! Volunteering is so rewarding and yes to just eating the Christmas cookies!! YUM! 🙂 I LOVE driving around and looking at Christmas lights, too!! That’s so much fun! Your tree is awesome, too!! Soooo pretty!! Speaking of pretty (GORGEOUS), I love the picture of you and your dad!! Cute!! 🙂 🙂 Have a fun weekend!! XOXO
Thanks Kristin…yes I was driving past lots of Christmas lights on my way home yesterday and it made me so happy! Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season and rocking those yoga hours!!
fun post! mmmkay, i’ll go with Christmas Day (even though i love Christmas Eve’s candlelight services), hot chocolate (yuckkkko to eggnog for me), outdoor lights, real tree (even though i think my parents changed to a fake a few years ago…i have such fun memories of real ones growing up), and immediate fam. enjoy your time with your dad this year. 🙂
Yes my mom has a HUGE fake tree! We are all going over there for Christmas this year…I still do not understand why she has such a massive tree but she really gets into the holiday season.
such interesting, great story, enjoyable photos and content!
🙂 Thank you!
I just watched Elf the other day !! I LOVE that movie 🙂
Honestly, it never gets old!
