Hello! Hope your Monday is going well. I’m here to recap some running workouts – I was able to get in just over 87 miles of running last week! So thankful for these strong legs of mine.
Let’s recap, shall we?!
Monday AM- 8.23 early miles. My legs were tired after the weekend workouts so I just made it happen. I tell you what it’s always easier once you get out the door.
Monday PM- 4.12 miles before teaching a class at the gym. I just park at the gym now and go run. Lately I’ve been playing Dora the Explorer and I found a new to me pretty route nearby! Love when that happens.
Tuesday- 10.35 miles on Halloween! We had a nice turnout for the run club. It’s starting to be that time of year where people fall off for the morning runs that I host, so I’m glad we have a few dedicated folks that still like to run early in the fall and winter.
Wednesday AM- 8.33 solo miles in the ‘hood. It was fun since I live in a young/professional city type area things are always bustling even at 5 a.m. I even saw some boot campers getting after it.
Wednesday PM- 4.12 sunset miles on double run day before watching a bit of the World Series with a good friend. Yay for the Astros!
Thursday AM- 14.05 early miles back with the run club again. I got an early head start and then finished up with them. The sunrise was stunning that morning.
Thursday PM- 3.05 miles before teaching back at the gym. Just warming up the legs from the long work day.
Friday- REST DAY
Saturday AM- 16 miles and some change back with the White Rock Running Co-op. I like running with this group because they push me, they are very supportive of one another and they just are laid back and like to have fun! I kind of look forward to my Saturdays running with them now. We run early, done by 9 am or so…then everyone goes to the Taco Joint for mimosas and breakfast tacos. I have not tried the tacos yet, but you’d better believe I had myself a mimosa post run. Cheers.
Saturday PM- 4.12 miles in the early evening, it was already pretty dark out even at 7:30 pm or so. The people watching was on point.
Sunday- 14.14 morning miles over by the golf course with some hill work thrown in. Temps were actually in the 90s yesterday with lots of humidity. I think we will be back to some fall temps this week though.
And there you have it!
How was your weekend? Tell me about your upcoming marathons!
It’s crazy how dark out it is so early. Since we just had our time change my sons run last night at 6pm was dark! I miss the summer late night but light runs!
Well I am glad for daylight savings because it made getting up this morning to run sooooo much easier! I don’t mind the dark though. Have a beautiful day!!
Awesome mileage! Early morning exercise and sunrises are a great start to one’s day. Happy Monday!
Thanks!! & I 100% agree!!
Major props to your courage, I am a little afraid to run in the dark, like true dark by myself. I am ok with just before the sun comes up and just before it goes down all the way. I need to start working on this fear though.
Get after it girl!! Bring a friend or light 🙂
I definitely want to pick up some night safety lights
REI (if they have one near you) or even Lowe’s/Home Depot has cheap ones. I purchased my headlamp from REI. Great investment! Cheers!
Ooooh i have a headlamp for hiking. Never thought about it for city running. Do you bring anything for safety?
Headlamp, safety lights, all of that stuff you are talking about can be found at any outdoor store. Yes, I carry all of these items. Join a run club or run with people in the morning if you don’t want to run alone. I run with a club and also solo. All of this is easier once you gain more experience as a distance runner. Hope that helps, love!
87 miles?! I’ve just feeling like I’m properly recovered from my first marathon a few weeks ago and was pleased to manage 25 last week! Top work and interesting insights 🙂
Thank you!! Cheers!
