Hi there! Hope you had a terrific weekend. I’m here to recap some miles last week!! Last week was a strong week of training as I ramp things back up for Revel Big Cottonwood! I was able to get in 71.2 miles of running in the Texas sun. Let’s recap and see how it all went down!
Monday AM- 5.22 miles on a spicy hot day at lunchtime. Getting some heat training in and a break from the busy work day.
Monday PM- 3.03 miles after teaching class at gym and watching the sunset.
Tuesday AM- 10.05 miles, back to some breakfast club running with the crew. Love my morning peeps.
Wednesday AM- National Running Day!! Or Global Running Day as it’s now called…it was a great day for some double run day miles. Just over 12 miles that day total. I got up and did 7.2 miles on my own. The sunrise was perfection. Perfect on a day to celebrate the joy of this incredible sport.
Wednesday PM- A little over 5 miles – Actually this was a LUNCH run. It was wine Weds that evening with my girls so I got to squeeze in some HOT miles and boy was it hot. Temps were well into the 90s that day but it felt like triple digits for sure with the humidity.
Thursday- 10.12 miles with a new early morning run group. (and yes they like to run lots of miles like me so it is a win win) They meet actually not too far from where my other posse meets so we may end up combining the groups for some of the Tues/Thurs work week runs. Tomorrow we will do some hills so I may try to get my gang to join in.
Friday- 4.03 miles running on my typical rest day. Pretty uneventful (and HOT already even in the morning) so got it done.
Saturday- 16.17 mile long run. I went out to run with the club I do my long runs with – the White Rock Running Co-Op. We had another ‘run my hood’ event and this lady hosted at her beautiful home. Brunch, pool time and great times running with friends. What more could you ask for to start off an amazing weekend.
Sunday- 10.32 miles of hills and sunshine. Running at my happy place is always fun.
And there you have it!
How was your weekend? Did you get some sun?! My tan is coming along quite nicely.
Looks like a fun running group! Well done and your miles look great!
Thanks so much!! It’s great thing when you can have fun with great people and get your training in all at the same time!
Great week!
Thank ya!! 😘
Damnit, why am I not in runner’s shape?
You are really “smashing” your runs. 😉
You’ll get there…you are doing great!! I am rooting for you 🙂 🙂 It definitely helps to track it all and keep up with your progress and keeps you honest.
You are right. I added all of my runs to my work and personal calendars, so I have a constant reminder of my weekly runs.
Excellent!! Happy training!
Sounds like a very successful week!

It was a strong week of training for sure! Thanks for reading!!
What a great looking running group!
I started walking again and we will slowly segue into running.
Wonderful!! I bet the weather in your neck of the woods right now is perfect for it!! ❤
I had an awesome weekend; 12 mile long run and LOTS of re-organizing after a long, jumbled school year (I’m a teacher, so summer is my time to put myself back together lol) I am SUPER PALE so I am religious about my sunblock use…so no tan for me, but I’m enjoying the sunshine anyhow:) I don’t know how you do all that running in the Texas heat; it’s only in the low 70’s in New England right now and I’m already struggling.
LOW 70s?!? That is downright chilly for us Texans ma’am! Yep, the heat training makes you a strong badass for sure. Enjoy your chilly runs girrrrl 🙂 heehee
71 miles in a week….serious!
Yess rounding up, lol I like it!
