Fall and Winter Races on Tap.

So while I’m still in recovery mode from my mountain marathon I thought we’d chat about the few races that I have coming up for fall and winter! It is going to be a wild season of training and I’m totally looking forward to getting my miles back up leading into some ultras. Including my 2nd 100 mile trail race in December! Woot woot.

October 13th- Orion Ultra: 50 miler, Freeport TX. I’m super excited for this race because it will be my very first BEACH ultra! I have several off roadie friends that did this race last year and absolutely loved it. Also apparently they have a BEACH RUNNING championship that will be here as well! So I’m excited to see all of that go down and of course get in some good training for the hundo.

November 22nd- Chelsea Trot, Irving TX. Okay so this one is not officially a race. haha. BUT it is my annual selfish Thanksgiving long run! Run lots of miles and eat lotsa pie. LOL or something like that. I usually do anywhere from 15-20 miles before the big dinner. We shall see what happens this year.

December 8th- Brazos Bend 100: 100 miler, Needville TX. SO VERY EXCITED for this one. It will be one big trail runner party. And of course I’m hoping to snag a sweet 100 mile PR since I’ve done this distance before. Woohoo.

February 24th- Cowtown Marathon: 26.2, Ft Worth TX- So usually I am a pacer at this race but in 2019 I am doing the FULL! This past year I was a pacer for the 50k and had an absolute blast. But I’m thrilled to return to get back to some marathon racing.

  1. I can’t even imagine your level of running, but I love reading about it! I ran my first (slow) marathon when I was 65, and have now scaled back even from half marathons to 10Ks, but I can live longer distances through your descriptions! Thx. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️

  2. Amazing. I’m just hoping I can get through 26.2 miles this November. Maybe someday I’ll work up to 50! Also I love running on Thanksgiving. The past couple holidays I’ve done a 4-mile race on Long Island that morning.
