Hi there and happy Monday! Hope you have some fun this week in store. I am here to recap some miles from last week’s training!! 50 miler training continues after running the Cowtown 50k. Let’s recap and see how it all went down!
Monday- This was the day after I paced the Cowtown Ultra (which was a blast- click the link to catch up if you missed!!) so I took a complete rest day which was glorious. I also have decided to stop teaching Monday night spin class so now my teaching schedule will only be Tuesday and Thursday nights after work. This will definitely allow me more time to train (RUN) and also just have some more time for ME!! I have to say it was really hard to let this class go, but it will allow me to bring more energy into my already packed Tuesday/Thursday night classes. Which I am absolutely thrilled about. So, YAY for that.
Tuesday AM- 10.13 miles back out on the lake in the mornings. I really have been enjoying solo runs in the mornings and feel like it is has been a great de-stressor. Plus, when I run closer to home, I go straight to the coffee bar at my apartments and get some delicious Keurig coffee. My two fave K cups right now- Hawaiian coffee and Swiss Miss HOT CHOCOLATE. Yaaas.
Tuesday PM- 3.20 miles after teaching class at the gym. Double run days did make a small appearance during this little week of recovery. Loved it.
Wednesday- 10.03 miles with my breakfast run club. I started the run with them and then did the last few on my own.
Thursday- 7.22 miles early morning with crazy COLD and WIND. This was when the temps dropped from 60s to 30s in a matter of 24 hours! Yeah weather was quite the roller coaster.
Friday- Back to some long run fun! 15.04 miles on a Fri-yay! A few of those miles were 8 minute miles so it felt good to move a little faster. One of my friends met up with me at the end to finish strong. I finally feel like I’m getting my speed back after BB100 and that certainly feels great.
Saturday- 17.02 miles with WRRC! The back to back long runs felt absolutely amazing. I was a little stiff after this run but joints and everything still feel good and strong. Body is holding up well. Did some good stretching after this run too. Confession- I have been bad lately at foam rolling. I will have to do that now that I have extra time during the week not teaching (!) so many classes at the gym. Also, my deep tissue massage is coming up for the month. YAAAS.
Also, grilled scallop and shrimps for the win. I went on a lil dinner and movie date. We saw “What Men Want” with Taraji P. Henson. Great date night movie!! Hey the fellas will like it too. Hilarious and highly recommended.
Sunday- Quick afternoon miles. 5.22 miles around the lake when the sun came out just a bit. I am excited for the sun to come back in the coming week. Check out this forecast. YAY, warmer days ahead.
