Well happy Monday to ya! I hope your Thanksgiving with friends and fam was absolutely fantastic. I’m here to recap some miles and smiles from last week! Let’s see how it all went down.
Monday- Last week I scaled back on the miles a bit more to see how the body felt with just a bit more rest. So Monday was a REST DAY. I have to tell you resting on a Monday for me is always mentally tough. You know there’s always that hashtag NEVERMISSAMONDAY that makes everyone who needs a rest day feel bad. Haha. “Runner’s guilt” is the best, right!? Anyway, the legs felt fresh and ready to go on Tuesday for some miles so that’s a good thing.
Tuesday AM- 7.12 relaxed miles in the hood. It rained a lot off and on last week so this was a humid cloudy day but it got done.
Tuesday PM- 3.02 evening miles after teaching a spin cycle class. I enjoyed doing some people watching at night by the water. Picked up the pace a bit at the end.
Wednesday AM- 7.22 miles catching up with my neighbor friend. Getting it in since I had Thanksgiving Eve off. Yay for that.
Wednesday PM- Double run day miles, 3.32 to get in over 10.5 miles for the day. I actually ended up going to a Thanksgiving Eve ONESIE party that night which was quite fun! Also, I bought my very first onesie just for this event. I am now a big time onesie FAN.
Thursday- 10.02 miles before 10 AM on Thanksgiving! The ‘Chelsea Trot’ was a success. No dogs/strollers/walkers in my way. It rained Thanksgiving morning too so the miles were a little soggy but so blissful.
Friday- REST DAY. Got some yoga stretching in though and allowed the body to rest. Kind of loving this whole ‘I’m not training for anything’ THING. I honestly still feel like the body is in repair post 100k. But, feeling better day by day.
Saturday- 10.11 miles done. Early Saturday miles before you even know you’re doing them, for the win.
Sunday- REST DAY. Plus the best red wine flight I’ve ever had in life. Oh so good.
And there you have it!
How was your Thanksgiving holiday? Best Thanksgiving dish you had?
My family friend made some sautéed cabbage with herbs that was quite good. PLUS. Mac n cheese for the win. And my dad’s sweet potato pie.
Someone made a corn pudding for my fam’s Thanksgiving, and I loved it. I was a bit tipsy and fell asleep right after dinner so I did not get to have any of my aunt’s “famous” strawberry cake. 😦 Actually, I did not have any dessert this year.
Aw…yeah my dad makes a sugar free pie (diabetic) so technically I didn’t have a REAL dessert but – he’s so proud of his pie so I always eat a little to make him smile. 😉
My other aunt made a sour cream pound cake, but she was the only one who had a slice. I’m not sure what that means. 😉
HAHAHA. Hmm.
40.8? Damn, I actually could have beat you for a week. That was my shot haha.
hahaha! #tryharder
