–Texas humidity this week has been oh so intense for running! We are getting back to that time of year where I am literally so super drenched after every dang run. I kind of love it. It’s the ultimate detox. So thanks I guess Texas, for being so dang humid and hot.
–It does take time to acclimate to this kind of weather, though. That’s where I think my double run days come in. I try to run early when it’s cooler but very humid and then after work when the humidity has calmed down and it’s just mostly hot heat. So then I am kind of good at navigating both.
–I still have a few races on the horizon that may or may not be canceled. I’m KEEPING the Hachie 50 miler on my radar since it is small and local. That’s the one I’m more excited about. And since I love ultra running so dang much. It is not until October though. But I’m keeping my miles up and in a bit of a building phase so working on getting back good at it.
–I’m back to running with my weekday run club (just on Thursdays, running solo the other days of the work week) but even having ONE day where I run with just a few people has been doing wonders. That and running more hills. Keeps things spicy.
–One of my run pals actually makes fun of me for saying the phrase “keep it spicy” but what can I say? It is a Chelsea-ism of sorts.
–I joined the VIP version of Strava since it’s a free trial although I really am not seeing much of a difference other than the fact that they put that extra orange marker by your name. I don’t care about the temperature during my run and the fact that you think I did a good effort, Strava. Sorry. I am just not a words of affirmation person. What can I say.
–This week has been crazy news/current events wise but what’s been helping me is just being able to laugh and have things everyday that bring me just a little bit of peace. One thing that has been brining me peace lately- parlaying at the pool in the evenings. Ultimate relax time.
Share your randomness with me today! What has been keeping you happy/at peace?
I’ve also been loving running in the heat/humidity! It makes it more of a challenge for me but I also love being drenched at the end!
YES!! OMG I love it so!! Happy Friday girlie!!
