Happy Monday & turkey holiday week! Hopefully you have some time off from the grind this week to relax, recharge get your grub on. I was able to knock out 60 miles of running last week!! Feels so good to hit those numbers once again. I am running my annual run across DFW run this year (33-34 + miles on NYE) so gotta keep them miles UP! Love the DFW ultrarunner crew. A little flashback pic. This year may look a little different with some social distancing space but it will be a good one.
Let’s see how it all went down!
Monday AM- 6.03 miles watching the sunrise with a friend to kick off the work week. We had some really nice fall/cool/breezy mornings and very much needed relaxed run just chatting the morning away.
Monday PM- 2.23 miles in the evening after the long work day to wake the legs back up and de-stress. Slowly but surely getting good again at these double run days! Picked up the pace a tad towards the end.
Tuesday- 5.37 miles around the lake solo. Woke up a little bit later to get this one done but still a morning run with a faster finish.
Wednesday AM- 6.22 miles of some rolling hills! I’ve missed my hill runs but I think incorporating more hills will be just what I need to stay strong with the higher mileage weeks. ‘Mounds of opportunity’ – gotta bring that phrase back.
Wednesday PM- 3.31 miles to get in over a 15k for the day. Some evenings I really enjoy these solo runs in the early evening darkness. Mornings are still my fave but I think it is important to switch the run times on up.
Thursday AM- Breakfast run club morning – 7.03 humid cloudy miles. Started this run off with a friend and then finished on my own.
Thursday PM- 3.03 miles on double run day to get in over 10 miles for the day! Legs were tired but it got done.
Friday- 7.03 more relaxed miles to keep things moving and get a tour of the beautiful fall leaves. Had to save the legs a bit for the longer Saturday run.
Saturday- 11.05 miles with a few hills with the WRRC crew. It was another humid day and the humidity in Texas has been a killer lately. So this was a relaxed run for sure but helped me get my numbers in for the week.
Sunday- Topped things off with yet another RUN STREAK WEEK! 8.71 miles to hit my 60.
And there you have it! Another strong week and very thankful for those who run with me to get me through it.
How was your week?! Anyone running a Turkey Trot real (or virtual) race?!
My “Chelsea Trot” miles will definitely be in full effect.
