–The summer feels are finally here, y’all. It’s so HOT and HUMID down here in Texas and my week has been filled with work. Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more has been the name of the game. I’m just trying to find shade on my runs as much as possible lately.
–I just got a new phone and decided last night to bring it along my run with me without the case. Can you guess what happened next? Yep. Took that bad boy out and dropped it on the concrete right away.
–Needless to say I now have a brand new design of beautiful cracks in the front of it. Does anyone know how much it costs to go to one of those phone screen replacement places? I’ve never had this happen before so hopefully they can fix it in a jiffy.
–I really want to plan a vacation to a winery. Not Napa/Sonoma as I’ve been there before but somewhere else more out of the box. Need suggestions on that as well.
–Now that you are vaccinated (if you are, like me) do you roam around outdoors/places now without a mask? Or are you still MASKING UP? I know it is a sensitive subject. I think at this point people just have PTSD.
–I’m on the fence about racing in Texas this summer and marathons are now boring to me. I really want to run another ultra post 50 miler but it may not be until the fall. For now I’ll just run for fun when I want and do a lot of cross training. Plus teaching my classes which of course I love. It’s nice to be in a place where you are not a slave to the miles. Just running for the sheer passion of it all. And I’ve been falling in love with the gym even more.
How is your running going in your neck of the woods? Has it gotten super hot and humid (like down in Texas)? Do share.
I’ve been sweating like crazy lately. And super tired and thirsty all day every day.
Hell no I’m not masking up. 🙂
lol. Hope all is well friend!!
-I guess it depends on the model, but the cost can be anywhere from $50 and up. Your renters/homeowner’s insurance policy may cover the cost. If you have insurance on the phone through your phone provider, they’ll just send you a new (or newish) one after paying the deductible. I think Verizon’s deductible for iPhones is in the $150 range.
-Since I’m all about conspiracy theories, I think the newer iPhone models are more slippery than the older ones. Until getting my iPhone 11 (a couple years ago), I NEVER used a case and rarely dropped my older iPhones. Within 15 minutes of trying out the iPhone 11, I dropped it a couple of times. Fortunately, I was in the Verizon store, and the woman just exchanged the phone since it was not activated at that point. #Phew. She was really nice, and I wonder what Juanita is up to these days. 😉
-I’m still masking up. Many places in NYC still have masking rules – some make sense and others are WTF. Outside of the gym, I guess I do not mind wearing a mask too much (especially on the smelly subway). For a 45 – 60 min gym workout, I got through at least 3 athletic masks. Fast wicking, quick drying my a**.
Lord, I made comment into a freakin post. Anywho, be well .
I just found out about Samsung Care. I did NOT know they had that just like they had apple!! Shows how much I know about technology. LOL. Going to check that route first. 🙂
pretty much the same story for me, I dropped my phone on the concrete not long after getting a phone without a casing. i didn’t have mine replace. cracks are running all over the back of it and some pieces of glass are falling out, so i could really see the inside. i found out the back of the phone is made out of glass. mine is a pixel 3. luckily the front is fine. I hope to keep the phone as long as possible. It still has plenty of storage. agreed with swosei, newer phones are more slipery. will i get a case for my next phone? likely not. cases are too bulky and hard to fit in the pants pocket or my hydration vest. I likely get a smaller or less expensive phone next time
Oh wow, your phone situation seems like a real doozy! I understand. It can get pricey but I hear Samsung Care charges like $29 or something ridiculous like that to fix my screen. I didn’t realize it was so easy peasy. 🙂 🙂
