Beach Vacation Recap, Turkey Day Plans and Wednesday Thoughts.

I am back from my extended weekend vacation!! And what a fun time it was. So much has been going on with work and personal stuff that this getaway could not have come at a better time. I just needed to run in a beautiful tropical place, see some palm trees and put my feet in the sand.

A girlfriend of mine has a place there so we went down to her spot and she showed me around her neck of the woods. Ft. Lauderdale is actually full of lots of culture and the cutest authentic coffee shops and fun beachy eateries. Fresh shrimp and beautiful beverages were had every single day.

It was quite cloudy most of the days but the afternoons were sunny so in the mornings I enjoyed running in the ‘hood with the ocean breeze hitting my face.

The humidity was intense but I really loved getting a good sweat on before hitting up the coffee shops for my post run iced coffee.

We went down there just the two of us (only children unite) and danced the nights away. She is like my sister from another mister.

I mean you truly also cannot beat these Florida sunsets and listening to the sounds of nature.

We both really did enjoy ourselves and really felt like we did not want to come home, but back to reality!

I have some long running scheduled for this week leading up to Perpetual Motion. Just an ULTRA ‘fun run’ for me in the coming weeks and I love that the pressure is off for this one. I plan on just closing out my year by getting lots of miles/time on my feet in.

I’ve also just been doing solo runs with everything going on in life (and being an only child) being solo is how I deal with things and life and such. A recharge of sorts. People that know me best know this and that it is nothing personal. Some days you just want to be around people who really know you, and get away from the hustle and bustle. I’m kind of at a time in my life where I want to do just that.

Thanksgiving will be lovely though. I plan on going to visit my Mama Bear and eating lots of mashed potatoes. Oh, and of course, running a Chelsea Trot.

Have a fantastic Turkey Day!

Any fun plans for your Thanksgiving? Are you running a Turkey Trot, or traveling anywhere?
