–This week has been mostly night time runs since things have been a bit hectic on the work front. But I am loving de-stressing with some miles as of late. Really it seems like no matter how crazy things get in life – running is always something I can come back to with loving arms. It truly is healing for my body mind and soul. I understand how much folks thrive off of racing and competition. But there are times in life when you can truly say you run for pure survival. Right now running (and teaching my classes at the gym) serves that purpose for me.
-I did something SILLY to my torso at the GYM last week and now I am paying for it a bit. So my runs have been a little slower and shorter. But building back up. I can without a doubt say that these Biofreeze patches are life. Seriously Biofreeze, you are the real MVP.
–I keep seeing ads for tickets to go to concerts. Are you guys actually doing concerts right now in this pandemic?!? I am kind of contemplating on going to one. But extremely large crowds still make me a bit antsy. Vaccinated or not.
–My friend’s bachelorette is coming up in Vegas and I really kind of want to go to that too…but I have been spoiled lately by all of my beach vacations. Really any time I fly now I just want to go to the beach.
–Speaking of which…new favorite beach…Clearwater hands down. I just came back from there a couple of weeks ago and I already want to go back. The beaches are freaking amazing and the sunsets are everything.
–A fun little throwback from Rock n Roll Las Vegas – really this race has the best swag but I do not recommend running the 26.2 distance. Go for the 13.1 because it is all on the strip. The marathon runs though some of the seediest neighborhoods I’ve ever seen. But if you are a night runner and don’t mind that then it just might be up your alley. Plus hey…you will get to have one heck of an after party.
Share some randomness from your week with me?! Anyone ever run the Rock n Roll Las Vegas full marathon? What is your favorite city to run that race series?
RnR San Diego was the best. Full and half. I also really enjoyed Rock n Roll Arizona and San Antonio.
While Clearwater is pretty, I highly recommend the St Pete beaches. Much less touristy and laid back. We live about an hour away from there.
Oh wow! I totally did not know that you lived that close. It is so beautiful there!! I go to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami with my friend so often that I hadn’t ever gotten to explore the gulf side. Definitely have to go back there more often.
Yup!! We’re just north of Tampa!!! Pass-A-Grille beach is one of our favorite St Pete beaches!!!
-I just finished a night run. Let’s just say going forward, I’m going to try my best to get in my runs in during daylight hours. 1. It’s colder at night 2. You know the saying . . . the freaks come out at night.
-Tomorrow, I’m actually going to a live show for one of my podcasts. I’m nervous, but not SUPER nervous.
-I’ve run only three RnR Races (Va Beach, Montreal, and Madrid). Well, I have New Orleans next week, but I’m not going to count it just yet. Of those three, Montreal (city and the course) is my favorite. It’s a shame that RnR no longer offers races in Montreal, but I hear several cities have gotten rid of RnR.
One of the perks working with Brooks as my sponsor back in the day was we used to get free Rock n Roll races all over the U.S. Madrid sounds awesome! Have a good day Kwame!!
You made me realized that I never received my RnR heavy medal or whatever they call it.
You can have mine, I have a box of hardware that I am tired of looking at! Buckles are better. 😉
i like the night pictures
Thanks Antin!! Love running all times of the day! Night time is a great change up especially if you run ultras.
