Random Thoughts Thursday.

Well I took a bit of a ‘random thoughts’ hiatus due to the fact that my mind was on running a 31 mile race! But hey, that is complete and now we can get back to business. In a festive St. Patrick’s Day fashion. Hope you all are wearing (and eating) something green today.

I celebrated by eating all of the super green edamame. It has actually been a while since I’ve had these but I have to say they are (one of my) most favorite green foods.

My gym put out a sweet little recipe for a healthy St. Patty’s shamrock shake! McDonald’s eat your heart out.

I’ve been marinating lately on the main tenets of the ultra mindset and I have to say all of these factors certainly RING TRUE. Especially the using running as a vehicle to tackle the ‘squishy things’ in life. Oh my goodness does that resonate. I have to say I have a lot of competitive runner friends… that kind of just don’t get me when it comes to the way I see ultras and racing. I was relieved to read this and realize that there are others that feel the same way about it too.

Yesterday I sat in the sauna and contemplated life. I actually feel like I work things out in my head in two places- on the road running and IN THE SAUNA. Sauna thinking time for the win.

These sunsets lately though. Extra sunlight in the evenings makes my heart smile. Now all I need is to see my Texas bluebonnets bloom and I will be one happy Chelsea.

Feel free to share some random thoughts with me! Where you do feel like you do your best thinking? Bathtub? Shower? On a patio with coffee? Do tell.
