TGIFriday Faves & Happy 2023.

Happy 2023, ya’ll! And yes you can imagine me saying that in the most Texan of accents, haha. It is the first Friday of the new year (!) so that is something to get excited about! I got some miles in this morning, and also enjoyed this glorious Texas sunrise, I definitely would not have it any other way. I’ve also got some Friday faves to kick things off in a proper fashion! So let’s get straight to it.

Kicking off the new year team teaching a spin cycle class with my girl Leedonna! It was a “Black girl magic” moment for sure. I have been teaching a TON over the holiday and helping out with so many instructors out and I have to say I really loved making all of the holiday money…and doing something I love all at the same time. So cheers to that.

Cooking up some things in the kitchen! Those stuffed shells were also a HIT. Even though Christmas is over I have this smoked salmon dip next to try for a fun weekend snack. I’ve been meaning to hit up Trader Joe’s lately too because I’m obsessed with their Everything Seasoning + smoked salmon.

I TAUGHT DANCE in Frisco, for the first time in YEARS!!! Haha. Had a fun group attend my class, after I had already taught 3 spin classes in one day. Had way too much fun doing that. YES…we are bringing the true “dancing runner” back to life.

I have my first race on the schedule for Spring 2023! Yes…that racing thing…Chelsea still does that. LOL. I took a huge racing hiatus after 2 back to back 50ks last year. Mainly because of my full time schedule / part time schedule getting so hectic and just really falling in love and dedicating most of my free time, to Life Time. Also…let’s be real I’d rather get PAID to work out these days. But, Hachie is still on the list. Haha…talk about a 50 mile FUN RUN. That will make for lucky number 7 in the 50 mile race department.

Yoga is still one of my main loves in life, and I really loved winding down last night with some beautiful hot yoga at Sanara. Tomorrow I’ll also be squeezing some more in at our new Craig Ranch location.

That’s all for now…feel free to catch up with me in the comments…and cheers to another wonderful year of doing what you love. And loving what you do.

How was your holiday/new year?! Any upcoming winter/spring marathons and/or ultras for you?
What can I say, I just like ultras…ultras are my favorite.

  1. I managed to get a bib for the 2023 Boston Marathon through my running club!
My first long run, 12.5 miles, is Sunday morning. That’s when the real work begins.
2023 is my 20th year of running so I’m very excited to celebrate by running this marathon.
