TGIFriday Faves.

Happy Friday to ya! I got my day started with a (very chilly) RUNrise. To the tune of 20 something degrees!! Thankfully highs are in the 60s today, but we’ve had some very chilly rainy mornings…welcome to Texas in February, y’all. Up and down and up and down. Just like I like it.

This patio weather does look quite promising for the weekend, though.

Let’s get to this week’s faves!

Aromatherapy lavender mist. Yes, still on that lavender kick. As of late with increasing demands at work I’ve needed a little de-stress scent for my desk and this one is perfect when I just need a boost. It’s funny because I think lavender is supposed to make you sleepy (?) but it brings me a lot of energy.

3 classic track workouts for runners. I am a big fan of 800s – I’ve actually been incorporating that a bit into my treadmill workouts so I am loving it.

My two fave vitamins of the week. Actually this is a daily thing for me but B12 and D3 are my absolute jam. Keeps my head clear when I need to write ALL OF THE THINGS for our live show. Hashtag TV producer life. It is a fun life, and one I do not talk a lot about on this here blog-o-thing. But it is a big part of who I am. (Say WHAT, you don’t GET PAID to run ultras??!) hahaha. Maybe one day I’ll have to make it a topic of conversation.

This sweet potato soup is great for immunity and glowing skin. Ahh…something I do not eat enough of. I actually need to get these back in my grocery basket soon and very soon.

Team ‘sangria hair’ in the wintertime. I always get so many compliments when my hair is this color. Love switching it up.

And there you have it! Have a wonderful weekend. Be good or be good at it.

What’s on tap for your weekend!? Have you ever dyed your hair a different color?

Random Thoughts Thursday.

It has been a little on rainy and dreary side down here in Texas but I’m still enjoying some workouts and knocking out lots of work. It is a busy time of year on the work front, so I’m finding solace in evening workouts as of late. I mean you really cannot beat sunset skies and this picture perfect view.

My allergies though have been in super active mode so there is for sure something in this Texas air. And SPRING is right around the corner so Lord help us all.

Currently grooving to this playlist at my desk while I knock out writing some TV promos. Moonchild and Wake the Wild are my happy little Spotify discoveries.

Also LOVING the SoulCycle XM radio station on my new beats radio. ‘Tweety’ my shiny new Renegade and I have been jamming all week long.

I have so much good stuff planned for this weekend (including a long run) and a SPA PEDICURE which I am in need of badly. Doing some faster running lately has by toenails looking quite unruly.

And finally a little funny for your Thursday.

Make it a great one!

TGIFriday Faves.

Hi, hey, hello and happiest of Fridays to ya! It is a balmy sunny day in Dallas (temps are soaring to close to the 80s today). Hey…feels like springtime in February. I will take it.

I got my morning started with some lovely miles around the lake. It felt good to be moving faster and feeling stronger after taking the miles down a bit. Fresh legs equals happy runner Chelsea.

Let’s get into my faves from this week!

What experts say about running after you’ve had COVID-19. I love how it breaks down asymptomatic vs long haulers. Good stuff here.

One of my favorite TEXAS trail race directors featured on Ten Junk Miles!! If you have ever run an ULTRA you would appreciate this podcast. It is one of my guilty pleasures.

My love for kettlebells has returned! Hmm…I think I’ll be sharing some of my favorite kettlebell workouts with ya’ll soon and very soon.

This smoothie recipe is inspired by some of the longest living people in the planet. Sip sip hooray…and enjoy.

Cheers to the weekend!! And fun adventures in my sweet new ride.

What’s on tap for your weekend? Any fun races/places/brunch?!?

Random Thoughts Thursday.

I’ve been on a bit of a blogging hiatus but alas I am BACK!! Hope you all have had a marvelous week. This week I’ve been enjoying more time in the gym with my lovely Life Time water bottle. Dare I say that the treadmill is kind of becoming my new BFF? I never thought I would ever say that, but hey here we are.

UPDATE your girl has a sweet new ride! One of my coworkers has lovingly named it ‘Tweety’. Yes I have a yellow car that is just as loud and vivacious and happy as I am.

It is without a doubt a LAVENDER kind of day! I’ve been diffusing this scent all day long. Some days you just need certain scents to put a pep in your step and this is the one for me.

I got into the VALENTINE’S spirit this year with my pretty heart wreath on my door. Honestly I’ve never really celebrated this holiday in a grand fashion but this year I believe I will be doing some GALentine’s stuff. Loving on yourself is where’s its at.

I do have a few (for fun) races I’ll be doing in the coming months that I am so excited about. Happy to get my speed (and mileage) back up and be back in the racing environment.

-And finally, some laughs for your Friday Junior.

Feel free to share some Thursday thoughts/randomness with me!

TGIFriday Faves.

I got my day started with some chilly miles enjoying some Friday sunshine. It’s always nice to get it in before a busy day writing promos and such. Gotta love that TV producer life. And that fitness instructor life. Many hats, many hustles and never a dull moment in the life of Chelsea. I wouldn’t have it ANY other way.

Speaking of the life of Chelsea…let’s talk about a few of my favorite things from this week!

11 off the beaten path beaches to soak up some sun and solitude. This Kauai view though. I’ve been to Oahu (uncle and ex college roommate lived there) but Kauai is absolutely on the travel soon list.

This song – it randomly popped up on my Spotify and I have to say it’s a Friday flashback favorite. I’ll be jamming to it all day long.

Honey pear cider lotion. One of the many things that HAS to be at my desk during the work day. Great pick me up and keeps my hands from not being so dry during these winter months.

Starbucks coffee mugs for the win.

The DFW weekend weather forecast. Hello patio weather in February. I am not mad at it.

Have a good one! Be good or be good at it.

Share some of your weekend plans with me!
Running, brunching, finally enjoying some Texas sunshine.

Random Thoughts Thursday.

This week has been mostly night time runs since things have been a bit hectic on the work front. But I am loving de-stressing with some miles as of late. Really it seems like no matter how crazy things get in life – running is always something I can come back to with loving arms. It truly is healing for my body mind and soul. I understand how much folks thrive off of racing and competition. But there are times in life when you can truly say you run for pure survival. Right now running (and teaching my classes at the gym) serves that purpose for me.

-I did something SILLY to my torso at the GYM last week and now I am paying for it a bit. So my runs have been a little slower and shorter. But building back up. I can without a doubt say that these Biofreeze patches are life. Seriously Biofreeze, you are the real MVP.

I keep seeing ads for tickets to go to concerts. Are you guys actually doing concerts right now in this pandemic?!? I am kind of contemplating on going to one. But extremely large crowds still make me a bit antsy. Vaccinated or not.

My friend’s bachelorette is coming up in Vegas and I really kind of want to go to that too…but I have been spoiled lately by all of my beach vacations. Really any time I fly now I just want to go to the beach.

Speaking of which…new favorite beach…Clearwater hands down. I just came back from there a couple of weeks ago and I already want to go back. The beaches are freaking amazing and the sunsets are everything.

A fun little throwback from Rock n Roll Las Vegas really this race has the best swag but I do not recommend running the 26.2 distance. Go for the 13.1 because it is all on the strip. The marathon runs though some of the seediest neighborhoods I’ve ever seen. But if you are a night runner and don’t mind that then it just might be up your alley. Plus hey…you will get to have one heck of an after party.

Share some randomness from your week with me?! Anyone ever run the Rock n Roll Las Vegas full marathon? What is your favorite city to run that race series?

RnR San Diego was the best. Full and half. I also really enjoyed Rock n Roll Arizona and San Antonio.

Weds Spin Playlist.

TGIFriday Faves.

Hi, hey hello and happiest of Fridays to ya! I got my AM started with a run in the chilly sunshine. It was 20 something degrees and I was avoiding black ice left and right but hey, it got done. Nothing like a sunrise run on a blissful Friday morning.

Followed by copious amounts of wonderful caffeine.

Let’s get to this week’s faves!

Sara Hall shares her 7 keys of longevity in running. Embracing imperfection…YES, YES and more YES.

Best indoor exercises to stay fit this winter. I’m all about the bodyweight exercises. Seriously so many awesome things you can do from the comfort of your living room and stay right and tight all season long.
